Cartiere Carrara is strengthening its commitment to supporting culture and local communities through a new partnership with Il Garibaldi in Prato.
The venue holds a special place in the city’s history. The historic theatre, formerly known as Garibaldi and later as Cinema Excelsior, was brought back to life in 2022 following a major redevelopment project, reopening as a space dedicated to culture, entertainment and bringing people together in the heart of Prato.
Today, Il Garibaldi is a multifunctional venue hosting cinema, theatre, music, performances, talks and cultural and educational activities, building on the history of the venue while opening it up to new forms of participation.
The new partnership is also a natural continuation of an existing relationship. In 2026, through its Tuscany, La Bellezza della Carta brand, Cartiere Carrara supported “W Garibaldi”, a format designed to make the theatre a place for meeting and dialogue with figures from the worlds of entertainment, sport and civil society.
That experience has now developed into a broader partnership, confirming Cartiere Carrara’s commitment to supporting culture and the places that contribute to the life of the communities in which the company operates.
Supporting Il Garibaldi means helping to keep alive a venue that has been returned to the city, while also creating new opportunities for Cartiere Carrara people to take part in its events and performances. Further opportunities will be communicated through the company’s internal channels throughout the season.
