{"id":6428,"date":"2025-10-28T11:28:13","date_gmt":"2025-10-28T10:28:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cartierecarrara.com\/?p=6428"},"modified":"2025-10-28T11:45:23","modified_gmt":"2025-10-28T10:45:23","slug":"la-carta-che-pianta-alberi-va-a-scuola-ii-edizione","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cartierecarrara.com\/en\/2025\/10\/28\/la-carta-che-pianta-alberi-va-a-scuola-ii-edizione\/","title":{"rendered":"THE PAPER THAT PLANTS TREES\u2026 GOES TO SCHOOL \u2013 Second Edition"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Cartiere Carrara project returns for local schools<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Audience<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The project is aimed at primary schools (particularly Years 4 and 5) and lower secondary schools (Scuola Secondaria di Primo Grado) in the Province of Lucca.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The project is run in collaboration with the Regional Schools Office for Tuscany (Ufficio Scolastico Regionale per la Toscana).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Educational Objectives<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>To instil in pupils the values of sustainability.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To provide accurate information on the importance of caring for the environment.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To inform pupils about the role of trees and the proper management of woods and forests.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To teach the importance of recycling and the wood supply chain.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To raise awareness of the impact of climate change and everyday actions that can help combat it.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To trial a new form of learning through hands-on experiences, such as planting trees.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To deepen understanding of the paper sector and its economic and cultural significance for the area.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>How the programme works<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The project includes classroom lessons, a tree-planting activity and a visit to a production site. Lessons last around two hours, are interactive, and engage pupils through videos and gaming moments. In addition to in-school sessions, there will be a dedicated day featuring educational trails within the \u201cnew forest of The Paper that Plants Trees\u201d, further tree-planting, and a visit to one of our paper mills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Partnerships<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To develop our information and teaching materials, we work with Compagnia delle Foreste, a company specialising in communication and outreach that promotes innovation and conducts research and trials in the forestry and environmental sectors. We also work closely with the AlberItalia Foundation, on whose Steering Committee and Board of Directors we serve. Thanks to the Foundation\u2019s research and studies, we have access to a wide range of up-to-date, scientifically validated information, which we use to provide pupils with reliable, current content.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Timelines<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>School lessons can be booked from <strong>November 2025<\/strong> until <strong>10 March 2026<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The forest day, including tree-planting and a visit to the paper mill, is scheduled for <strong>25 March 2026<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Further teaching resources<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><em>L\u2019uomo che piantava alberi<\/em> by Jean Giono<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em>Il mio bosco \u00e8 per tutti<\/em> by Luigi Torreggiani<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Downloadable brochures from <strong>Compagnia delle Foreste<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Inclusion in the PTOF<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Given the possibility of continuing the project over time, we ask that \u201cThe Paper that Plants Trees\u2026 goes to school\u201d be included in the School\u2019s <strong>Piano Triennale dell\u2019Offerta Formativa (PTOF)<\/strong>. This will allow it to be repeated each year, ensuring educational continuity and a lasting impact on pupils. Inclusion in the PTOF will also facilitate more structured planning and ongoing collaboration between Cartiere Carrara and schools, helping to make the project an integral part of pupils\u2019
