The 2024 Sustainability Report was presented at the Auditorium of the Innovation Centre in Florence. For the first time, the Report was prepared in accordance with the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS). The early adoption of this reporting framework, required by the CSRD Directive, marks a significant step forward in the company’s journey toward increasingly transparent and responsible management.
“With this report, we wanted to share the results achieved in 2024 while also setting the course for the years ahead,” said Mario Carrara, Vice President of Cartiere Carrara, in his opening remarks. “For us, sustainability means concretely integrating all its dimensions—environmental, social, and governance. It is a commitment that goes beyond statements of intent, translating instead into measurable results, responsible investments, and daily choices guided by a long-term perspective.”
The presentation event, moderated by Michele Cagiano, Deputy Director of Sky TG24, featured contributions from Professor Marco Frey, Coordinator of the Interdisciplinary Center on Sustainability and Climate at the Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies in Pisa and former Chair of the Global Compact Network Italy Foundation; Gaetano Ievolella, CEO of Cartiere Carrara; Cristiano Dutto, Director of Quality and Sustainability; and Roberto Raccanelli from EY Italy’s Climate Change and Sustainability team. The event was attended by over 130 participants, representing the company’s diverse stakeholders.
